Pete’s Herbs is a small, family-run farm located on Johns
Island, South Carolina. For over 30 years, the Madsen family has been delighting customers with
a wide variety of "home grown" plants, ranging from hard-to-find
old-fashioned varieties of camellias to a multitude of culinary and ornamental
herbs, vegetables, and edible flowers.
Pete's is the largest producer of quality, live
herb plants in the Lowcountry. Many of the varieties we offer are cultivars produced
especially for withstanding our semi-tropical climate. We grow many of our herbs from stem
cuttings, producing plants of a superior quality to those grown from seed.
This is just one reason why local nurseries and many gardeners rely on our herbs
to give them the best flavor and durability.
At Pete's, we strive to offer quality information
as well as quality plants. We feel this is critical, especially for customers
who want to experiment with the new or unusual, but may be lacking in the
experience or confidence to do so. All of our herbs come with customized labels
which include the name of the variety and cultural information. Additional
